finally managed to get my hands on this photograph. haha. a little late, since our very pleasant picnic at lower pierce reservoir. i truly was disappointed when we didn't win the FCBC photograph competition. mannnn, our sunset was so beautiful! :) so friends learn to love each other as they interact and hang out more together. we learn how to tolerate one another's dirty habits, unhygienic lifestyles, short-tempers etc etc.
but what happens when we are called to love our neighbours?
on the train home from dance tonight, Rui Xiang and I witnessed two men fighting. A 75 year old man and a hokkien ah beng in his mid 20s.
honestly, i felt that the old man was being nasty.
the young man already gave him the seat in the train, but he started scolding vulgarities and said things like "punch me, i'm sure i can fight you"
come on!
you're 75 years old!!!!!
and then other people had to step in,
pull the young man away and tell him its not his fault and all.
and even when they were apart,
the old man continued spewing lots of ugly hokkien vulgarities across
for the whole cabin to witness.
the atmosphere was so tense,
everyone was keeping quiet, not daring to look in their direction
the hokkien ah beng was literally SHAKING with anger.
feeling very unsafe, i decided to alight from the train at Eunos with Rui Xiang.
we waited for a long time for the next train.
but during that period of waiting,
we decided that.......
