a macho man told me about American Idol Finalists singing SHOUT TO THE LORD LIVE! on Idol Gives Back. ohhhhh whaooo. :) Darlene's gonna be so happy. but today, i really want to blog down my thoughts about this song that has been in my head. And everybody here's, from somewhere else
You could make a million dollars, but you might lose yourself
they say the Grass is Greener on the other side. that's probably one reason why i chose to come for SEP.you know, see the sights and open your heart to the bigger world out there. and i've come to love the city of Boston. i love attending school here. i love being able to go on road trips. i love the different seasons, especially now when Spring is here!i love touring and seeing the beautiful scenery. i love the idea of having so many things that i could do here (upcoming NBA matches and Red Sox Games that i can go to) And you can take the heat will your heart go cold
They say acting’s just pretending, even that gets old
But all said, I have learnt that the grass is never greener on the other side. despite all those plus points, the one sentence that i say next will trump all of the above. NOTHING beats being home. so long, put your blue jeans back on girl, go home.
remember Hollywood's not America.
nothing feels like home, where your friends and family are. you begin to realize that the community you had over there was so much stronger.yes you built a new one here, but it'll never be the same. you build new friendships, friendships that will last a long time.but you also build superficial friendships that will not last. nothing feels like Singapore, where your comfort zone is. i learnt to appreciate everything that the government has given us. efficient transport systems, pragmatic policies. come here and you will realize the messed up policies of America (immigration, Iraq etc) so, it's april now.
very soon it will be may.
very very soon it will be june.
and very very very soon, i will be home. :)
