Our Greatest Fear —Marianne Williamson
it is our light not our darkness that most frightens us
Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light not our darkness that most frightens us.
We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous,
talented and fabulous?
Actually, who are you not to be?
You are a child of God.
Your playing small does not serve the world.
There's nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other
people won't feel insecure around you.
We were born to make manifest the glory of
God that is within us.
It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone.
And as we let our own light shine,
we unconsciously give other people
permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our own fear,
Our presence automatically liberates others.
thank you sam wee :) , for a poem that makes me stronger.
i am always one week behind the FCBC sermons.
-they only upload the videos on tuesdays
-i don't have a long period of time to sit down and watch during the week days
-therefore, i watch them on saturdays.
and so sometimes i thought that i might lose out cause... one week slower....singaporean kiasu mentality kicks in you know? :P
but somehow, God still speaks so strongly in every sermon and i am very thankful for that.
i decided to watch the Adult Worship and Adult Sermon for a change this week (this is the advantage of watching webcasts, you get to choose!!)
whaaa... guess who was leading worship?
my favourite of all favourites!
pastor roger lee.
happiness.
me thinks he is very anointed in leading free worship,
there's always something special about it.
okay reflections time....
Grace teaches us that God loves because of who God is, not because of who we are.
Philip Yancey
i thought that that was a very beautiful quote.
my application for this week would be to Rest in His Sufficiency
and to Return to His Saving Grace. :)
i loved all the parts of the sermon where pastor eugene talked about Israel.
brought back so many pretty and vivid memories, as though i just went there 2 weeks ago.
and he said something about how Israel was very barren and that nothing would grow, but because of the very good irrigation system the Israeli's put in place, you get to see orange farms etc etc.
so as a direct parallel to our lives, that would mean learning to grow in desolation and allowing God to water our spiritual roots at the right time. Amen.
i am going to look forward to visiting another church tomorrow.
it's the BU church so i think its going to be very traditional!
but, Lord wherever i go, let your presence go before me.
The Lord has promised good to me
His word my hope secures
He will my shield and portion be
As long as life endures
