it's the little things that make me happy
my book is finally here! ordered it from Amazon a few days ago. :)
let me give you some introduction to this wonderful book.
no1: Don Cheadle is the actor who acted in Hotel Rwanda (my fav movie ever/all my history students must watch it in future)
no2: there is a foreword by Elie Wiesel. He is the guy who wrote the novel NIGHT. and he is a survivor of the holocaust that took place during WWII. if you haven't read NIGHT, you need to go to amazon.com and buy it now. now! =p
no3: there is an introduction by SENATOR BARACK OBAMA. wooohoo. i am more convinced that he should be the next president of the United States.
the first thing i did when i got the book, was to turn to the pages with photographs. and they were all so poignant, yet heartbreaking at the same time.
the image of a man attacked by the Janjaweed is deeply entrenched in my mind now. :(
i wish that the darfur genocide would end soon.
i wish that there was something more that i could do than just reading this book.
but anw, i've only 45mins of lecture tomorrow. so i'm going to spend the rest of day with my book!
yayy-ness.

it's been a Long long time since i took funky photos with my skinny lanky laine.
on skype chat, we were talking about how both our love languages was spending "Quality Time"
and that's been so difficult cause of this stupid time difference! *roar*
but we're going to learn in the next few mths tt we can spend quality time on skype as well. hahaha.
so last night we had so much fun on skype..
we started with the really funny stuff..
- like how grandson lee is in laine's lecture AND tutorial this semester. HAHAHAHA. this is karma elaine!! for laughing at me the whole of last semester. good luck to you.
- like how Edison Chen's girlfriend is studying at Boston University now. and how laine keeps warning me NOT to shake his hand even if he says hi cause there's a possibility that i will get herpes..
- like how we're preparing our April Fool's pranks again. this time we're going to join powers to show our "love" to someone "really special" HAHAHa.
then we talked about school..
- like how i had to write an essay this week on the weakening of liberal universalism (puke SALIVA)
- like how she had to write an essay this week on the case for democracy in europe (puke BLOOD)
- like how we whine about the never-ending work that seems to just pile up everyday.
- like how we miss attending lectures together. and how seehwei's in loughborough.
- like how there's no one to go to the bazaar's with her at Central Forum. and there's no one to go shopping with her at Far East.
then we talked about serious serious, very serious stuff.. =p
- like how you'll make many friends in school, but only stay close to the precious few.
- like how to stay focused in our walk with God even when things around us start to shake.

all in all, i think this girl knows me next best to mummy tay.
three cheers for the sisterhood!
and for now, only she will understand why this song speaks so much to me.
Sometimes I wonder what lies ahead
How long till my hunger is fed
They say it's hard to make it in this part of town
So many people on this merry-go-round
Some folks try astrology
Some turn to crystal balls
To find an answer,
To get through it all
I just fall on my knees and I try to pray
In the silence I can hear Him say
The river runs and the river hides
Out to the ocean and under the sky
I promise you, the answer will come
Hold on to patience and watch for the sign
Everything in its time
I often feel like I'm two steps behind
Somebody must have moved that finish line
There are a thousand reasons
Why I should give up
But I'm stubborn in the things I believe
The river runs and the river hides
Out to the ocean and under the sky
I promise you, the answer will come
Hold on to patience and watch for the sign
'Cause maybe there's another plan
One I still can't see
A little surprise, like your love in my life
Funny how time changes how we see
The river runs and the river hides
Out to the ocean and under the sky
I promise you, the answer will come
Hold on to patience and watch for the sign
Everything in its time
Everything in its time
indeed, it's the little things that make me smile.
it's the little things that make me a happier girl.
it's the little bible verses that remind me of Your love for me.
But I will sing of your strength,
in the morning I will sing of your love;
for you are my fortress,
my refuge in times of trouble.
Psalm 59:16
