i was so disappointed last night.
we were supposed to attend an Asian Dinner with all the asians from BU, Harvard and MIT.
so i went there with the impression we were going to have a really good dinner.
i felt soooooooooooooooo cheated. super cheated.
i wasted my $15!
no food at all.
and horror of horrors, it wasn't even a dinner.
it was just a HIGH CLASS CLUB in a hotel.
loud clubbing music which i consider NOISE.
it falls in the same category as Techno "noise".
and the sleazy dance floor.
so all i did was take photographs.
and i couldn't wait for it to end.
hahaha.
i mean, seriously.
is dancing that way edifying at all?
and i think about the dance that we do in church.
there's so much more meaning and purpose in being dance ministers.
using our talents for God and not for the world.
i am in an anti-clubbing mood now. :(
yes dance is fun. it's good exercise. there are so many good things about dancing.
but the three words that kept flashing before my mind while we were at the hotel last night was "salt and light".
i don't think i can be a salt and light in such places.
it's either the world, or God.
you can't have both.
was very happy to visit a new church called Cornerstone this afternoon.
it's like youth service back home!!!!!!!
when the drummer started playing,
i knew the song immediately.
FOR all you've done... yayy.
and it was in this really pretty church.
worship was good.
we sang this really really old song.
all heavens declare
the glory of the risen Lord
Who can compare
with the beauty of the Lord
forever He will Be
the Lamb upon the throne
I gladly bow my knee
and worship Him Alone.
woww. i love such old songs.
reminds me of the good old days at TouchCentre. hahaha.
the pastor looked so young. like amos ng jin tong's age. MY goodness.
and he was preaching to the WHOLE congregation....
the sermon was on the 5 Loaves and Two Fishes. it was good. :)
the words of the second song that we sang during worship really made me cry.
it was such a familiar song! haha. you probably can hear it playing on the blog right now. :)
i had a very very good talk with kristin till like 4am last night.
i'm so thankful that even though we come from different churches, we share similar beliefs. wheee.
what kind of Christian do i want to be in Boston?
that's the question i am asking myself this week.
Salt and Light?
Yes, Salt and Light.
So I’ll walk upon salvation
Your Spirit alive in me
This life to declare Your promise
My soul now to stand
TURN YOUR EYES UPON JESUS
