a proverb a day keeps the papayas away

today started out as what i call a papaya day.
i have been having too many embarrassing/awkward situations happening to me!

no1: slipped and fell on the snow (ouch!) yesterday right in the middle of the roaddddd! thank goodness sam, ryan and tom were there to help me. if not i would have cried cause the ice was so painful.
no2: geri and i thought we were crossing the zebra-crossing (there were black and white stripes on the road okay) this morning when a car honked at us very loudly that we both screamed and everyone else started to stare... we still don't know how to cross the roads in america. its too complicated.

but nothing tops what i did today.

i was reading my hunter s. thompson book when i suddenly jumped out from my seat and ran to school cause i thought i was late.
i reached the classroom and saw another girl and asked her if this was the discussion section for american history. she said yes.
so we started talking. quite happily too.

girl: so where're you from?
me: i'm from singapore, i'm on exchange for six months.
girl: how do you like boston?
me: it's not bad, just a little too cold..
girl: oh i'm a Junior from SMG, you?
me: i think i'm considered a sophomore, history major!

and we carried on talking for 5 mins. then we realized that no one else entered the classroom. i turn to her and ask..

me: are you sure we're in the right classroom?
girl: yeah i'm quite sure!
me: but no one seems to be coming in..
girl: you're right, maybe its cancelled.. let me check my schedule.
*she picks up her phone and starts to call her friend*
girl: shoot! i thought today was a wednesday! haha my class is on wednesday actually
me: ohh... err.. so there's no discussion today?
girl: do you know which discussion you're in?
me: yeah, monday 3-4pm!
girl: haha, it's only 2pm. you're too early!!

nice! what a boo boo. just then my angel calls me and says: "char where are you? i have a break come find me!"

thank u sam! :)

after lessons, we headed down to the charles river. tom was obsessed with taking photographs. i shall give him credit for today's photos. he took them cause i forgot to bring my camera out. haha. quite nicely done. :)
yayy.. the river has started to defrost! (look below!)

can't wait for spring to come. so nice to hang out here. then i'll be able to post nice photographs like angus' with the people sitting on the grass and reading books eh? :)

the snow next to the river was so THICK. i made footprints in the snow today. haha. fun fun.

we're going to check out the extension courses in Harvard tomorrow. I'm thinking of taking a module on Child Psychology with Geri and Alicia. it's a once in a lifetime opportunity to study in Harvard! so yeah..hopefully we'll meet all the smart geeks and future Presidents of America and make THE connections. haha.

but all said, i'm going back to my proverbs.
woke up this morning with this verse flashing before my mind.
stopped reading proverbs in the morning because we were reading Psalm.
so this is what i'll do now.
A Psalm in the morning and a Proverb in the night. :)

Above all else, guard your heart,
for it is the wellspring of life.
