12th of January is approaching.
and i must be a weird weird girl.
when i thought i couldn't go for SEP, i was sad.
when i could go for SEP, i am still sad.
people say it's normal to feel this way because Singapore is so comfortable.
growing up here, you practically live in a safe haven.
i have so many vested interests in this tiny island- family, friends, fcbc, my girls, the thought of not being able to play my piano for 6 mths is "arrghh", FOOD etc.
so stepping out of this comfort zone scares me alot.
there are so many fears inside me and sometimes the things that are happening around me now doesn't help to alleviate the anxiety. truth be told, i am at such a loss of what to do that i feel like going down the path of nonchalance.
but a conversation with a wise friend last night brought many things into perspective again. thank God for sending me Angels when i need them!
To start this year of Sabbath, all of us at FCBC have to read one chapter of Psalm a day. i was taught to read this Psalm last night in a new and refreshing light.
i read Psalm 3 again this morning because i learnt new things and i wanted to reflect on God's word.
CONFRONT-my fears
O Lord, how many are my foes! How many rise up against me!
Many are saying of me, "God will not deliver him"
CONFESS-my anxieties
But you are a shield around me, O Lord;
you bestow glory on me and lift up my head.
To the Lord i cry aloud, and he answers me from his holy hill.
I lie down and sleep; I wake again, because the Lord sustains me.
I will not fear the tens of thousands drawn up against me on every side.
CLAIM-God's Promises for me.
Arise, O Lord!
Deliver me, O my God!
Strike all my enemies on the jaw;
break the teeth of the wicked.
From the Lord comes deliverance.
May your blessing be on your people.
before God can deliver us, we need to learn to confront our fears and confessing them aloud. i did that today and i feel a little braver now. :)
rather than hide the fears and pretending to be strong, i believe that when we act in faith, God is pleased with us. His promises to us will never fail (i know that already, i just need to translate that to heart knowledge again.)
