Charmaine the TOUR GUIDE (Special Edition)
yayy. so yesterday was Deepavali, and it was a great time to take a break and go shopping! ;)
found two brand new places worth going in Singapore! bet you don't really know them. so here's charmaine the tour guide blog post!first we went to city plaza. you have loads of boutiques there. but there are two extremes. some shops sell really nice fashionable clothes, while some sell the ge-tai kind of clothes. hahahaha. but its a really good bargain! i bought a nice top for $18 ONLY!! cheeeeap cheeeeap.then, we went to HAJI LANE.WHAo. i love this place! it's so cool. just walking in all these alleys make you feel nostalgic. and whenever you wanna enter a shop, you have to climb up the old creaky stairs of the shophouses. way way cool.
well, the clothes and accessories are rather expensive, but i had such a fun time just browsing through everything. they even sold pick-up-sticks! old school man.
i was very fascinated by the name of this shop called "im wuyagege". try translating that to mandarin. hahahahahahaha.... i'm the crow brother????
after that, i watched two thought-provoking movies. Lions for Lambs was a real good meaty show. the dialogue was witty and simply brilliant. it made me think alot. ALOT.then i watched freedom writers again. my second time watching it, but i enjoyed it nonetheless. this time it was mabel's dvd, so there were special features included. i realized that they cut off many scenes from the actual movie, like showing how the teacher brought the students to watch Schindler's List. MAN... why did they do that! that was a good scene! but, this movie speaks volume about racial tolerance. what we have in singapore now, it's really a blessing. made me think alot again. these two shows reminded me of this song, All For Love. I like the God He Reigns version as compared to United Live one. haha. the first show talked about how people make mistakes in their lives-some collateral ones, some infinitesimal ones. the second one talked about how we can avoid making the same mistakes, the need for a "toast for change". but at the end of the night, i think i just came to the conclusion that God is merciful and gracious. so whenever we need to run back to Him, he will welcome us with open arms. :)
All for love, a Father gave
For only love could make a way
All for love, the heavens cried for love was crucified
Oh, how many times have I broken Your heart
But still You forgive if only I ask
And how many times have You heard me pray
Draw near to me
Everything I need is You
My beginning, my forever
Everything I need is You
Let me sing all for love
I will join the angel song
Ever holy is the Lord
King of glory, King of all
Oh, how many times have I broken Your heart
But still You forgive if only I ask
And how many times have You heard me pray
Draw near to me
Everything I need is You
My beginning, my forever
Everything I need is You
All for love a Savior prayed
Abba Father, have Your way
Though they know not what they do
Let the cross draw man to You, to You, to You
TURN YOUR EYES UPON JESUS
