I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ,
the glorious Father,
may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation,
so that you may know him better
I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in orer that you may know the hope to which he has called you,
the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints.
Ephesians 1:17-18
Read somewhere that prayer can be like pushig a full wheelbarrow with no wheel.
indeed, i think we feel this way sometimes.
for myself, it has been a struggle to pray for my members because there are times when I feel like my prayers are not being answered or i don't know what to pray for. But today's bible passage has taught me how Paul prayed with thanksgiving. On Sunday, i went for SOL3 and we were talking about consolidation. there are certain difficulties such as parental objections, priorities, and aligning our lives to Christ's destiny for us. When Aunty Lily asked us to think about how we can overcome such obstacles, everyone agreed that prayer was one of the best options. in my heat, i agreed, but i was doubtful. this was just going to add on to my prayer list which is already so long. But i've learnt that when we pray, we must learn to put our prayers in perspectives. If we pray with joy and thanksgiving, I'm sure that the Lord will be pleased. Rather than making our prayers self-centered, maybe we should make it Christ-centered. this will be my application for the week. Not my will but the Lord's be done. :)
To my girls: Don't worry about your test results. Pray with joy and thanksgiving because the Lord has certainly seen you through this period. Worrying means not trusting in the Lord. I hope that you will be blessed by these verses, and learn to pray with thanksgiving in your hearts. :)
