today was the first time in a long long time that i went down to bedok town sec to help out with the step up programme again. truthfully, there was ALOT of inertia this morning, especially the first few moments when i got out of bed. then came the part when i had to take a cab down from nus to bedok. money money money.
but in the end, i had a great time.
this has been the first truly meaningful activity since starting uni. it was nice to see the kids and nice to know that i was missed during the past few months! haha. =) though it was totally energy sapping, having to like repeat myself countless times for simple instructions, the tiny moments where they responded really made me smile. today's trip also made me think back on the many ups and downs we have had with these normal technical students. but deep inside, there is always this sense of satisfaction whenever they open up and let you work through their lives.
the meaning of our lives, perhaps then, is about how we leave our influences behind.
